
This course is designed to teach an amateur to intermediate Dj the advancements of the new age Djing set of club & performance DJ’ing through digital technology as well as all the knowledge required to take the average dj performance to the next level in line with the development of Dj technology. It involves a minimum of 12 hours with an experienced DJ/Lecturer and another 12 hours of self study practical time on our digital equipment. We also offer our students the use of the equipment for extra practical sessions for the duration of the course, subject to availability. Our course is presented over an 6 week period and consists of a two hour class once a week and a two hour practical session once a week. You also have the option of doing your class and practical on the same day.setup Along with all the practical knowledge a student will acquire from time spent on the equipment the student will also receive our advance DJ notes that contains all the information we cover in the course and can be used as a reference manual after the course has been completed. The student write a theory exam and that would give them their internationally recognised Native Instruments accredited certificate endorsed by the world leading Digital Music development company Native Instruments GMBH , provided they pass. Included in the price of the course we will give each student further discounts on any future advanced Dj equipment that they would need to purchase.We try to create a relationship with our students and help them with records, gigs, equipment and as much after sales service as we can. Our course is designed for the Dj that wants to take his Djing career to an advanced level of performance, The cost of the basic course is payable either in full upfront or in two payments, 50% on enrolment date and 50% mid way through course unless the course forms part of the 1 year Urban Music Diploma course which then includes Dj basic, Music Production and Advance Dj course .It is necessary that one is computer literate, has experience)amateur to intermediate) in the DJing field (Ie dj’s on cdj/ turntables regularly),
A student is required to attend 1 class (2hours) and 1 practical(when required) session a week! Class and practical times are negotiable and will be discussed with the student to arrange the best possible day and time for all parties! We do however urge students to stick to their arrangement once a class and practical time has been agreed upon! Classes are one on one and can commence as soon as the first payment is made! If a student wants to do some extra practice sessions, the studio is at their disposal with prior arrangement! This will depend on the availability of the studio! Students are not allowed to bring friends to class with them!
NB!!! Students are required to bring their own headphones to class! feel free to ask about our student discounted rates on headphones and are also encouraged to get there full digital setup for home practice & application
The classroom is a sound proof studio with state of the art equipment. The equipment itself will consist of A Traktor scratch digital system, Midi controller , Dj mixer and Pioneer CDJ 200 cd players! These are the industry standard for dj’s and clubs all over the world! We also expose students to other makes and models of equipment to give them the knowledge to work on other equipment if the best is not available!
The classes will be presented by professional and experienced dj’s who operate on the advance dj equipment daily! We prefer to have one on one classes to give every student individual attention and to develop a personal relationship with every student. This way we keep good track of a student’s progress and help out students with after sales service and advice.
It is vital the the student purchases their own Traktor Scratch units in order for them to maximise their skill in learning the art form within the digital world These topics will be explained thoroughly to the student by the lecturer and will be put in to practice by the student with help from the lecturer! These topics will also be included in the manual and will be available for reference after the course is finished!
Students will receive the full 6 week course with a minimum of 12 hours with a lecturer and 12 hours of practical time, he/she will also receive an opportunity to extra practice sessions Students will also receive a comprehensiveadvance dj manual with a demo disc mixed by the student and on completion of the course, after writing a theory exam and doing a practical evaluation the student will receive an internationally recognised certificate accredited by Native Instruments ! Plus we will help you out with finding the right equipment!
