The volca sample is a sample sequencer that lets you edit and sequence up to 100 sample sounds in real time for powerful live performances. It’s a powerful addition to any existing volca setup, or simply on its own. The new volca lets you recapture the excitement of the first generation of samplers, in which any sound --- vocals, spoken words, ambient sound, or glitches --- becomes material for your creations! The one downfall we find with this sampler though is that one needs to Sample through the iOS app , which means you have to own an iOS device to to actually sample it , or else you pretty much out in the cold,

But the joy is the Korg Volca Sample captures the fun and freedom of an old-school sample sequencer in a format that's perfect for modern electronic musicians and modular synth rigs. If you're looking for a great way to take your groove production out of the computer where you can really get your hands on your sounds, then the Volca Sample is it. It comes pre loaded with 100 killer samples that you can tweak, sequence, and automate all on the fly, with cool functions such as reverse, swing, and reverb to keep things interesting. The custom iOS app lets you capture and upload your own samples, and Korg's sync I/O let you combine the Volca Sample with your other Volca and Electribe gear.

The heart of the unit is the sound parameters, which you can then map to individual steps:

Sample select, start point, length, hi cut

Pitch: speed, envelope, attack, decay

Amplitude: level, pan, attack, decay

And you can motion-sequence each of these.

There’s also per-sample reverse and reverb, plus overall reverb mix and swing.

The “Analog Isolator” gives you bass and treble controls

With a Midi port it is easily synced to your DAW easily making it a slave to your rhythm
